Short Makes For a Great Action Figure

We land up in the theatres every once in a while. Sometimes we pool in for a movie that may not be great but promises to entertain. Well ‘Armored’ is not that kind of movie. It is one which entertains you much more than you expected. The action in the movie is non stop just like in its tantalizing trailer. Watch the Armored trailer to get a good glimpse of the movie.

There is a hell lot of a cast in this movie. It is obvious that when you put great actors into the script you mostly turn out to get a medley of realistic characters. Such is the case with ‘Armored’. The Armored cast has been displayed well on UAE’s official movie website. Here is a little description on some of the characters:

Columbus Short plays Ty Hackett who works for a security company along with all the other guys who participate in a crime that involves stealing $42 million. He isn’t on the plan at first, but the thought about taking care of his younger brother does make him succumb to his colleagues. His co-worker Mike (played by Matt Dillon) is the one who tries convincing him to get involved with their plan. After Ty agrees, the whole team has agreed to work towards one goal and that is: robbing the steel truck loaded with money, within an hour. There is a heist that follows from here on. This team also includes Dobbs starring Skeet Ulrich, Palmer starring Amaury Nolasco, Quinn starring Jean Reno and Baines played by Laurence Fishburne.

The movie ‘Armored’ begins with Ty Hackett going to work just like any other usual day. He meets his colleagues and starts working by picking up the money that they have to transport. When they finishing stacking their truck and carry on, they realize that their truck has been sabotaged with sugar in their gas tank. Soon afterwards, a guy with a gas mask sticks a bomb on the truck right next to where Ty is stuck. The bomb goes off and a rocket springs out of the bomb. Ty sighs realizing that it was all a prank. Watch out for that truck!

‘Armored’ is an 88 minute film which is quite short for a good action movie. But most of the film comprises the heist. In other words, the story does not circulate around the bush. It moves straight to the point. That makes it all the more better for us here in UAE. Since most of us fans like quality and not the frills, ‘Armored’ gives us just that. Deciding whether to watch the movie ‘Armored’ or not shouldn’t be a task. If you are a fan of action packed drama then you should go for it. 6 security guards plan a fake hijack involving 2 steel trucks with the money. Their goal is to get away with it by driving it some place else and hiding it. They work at the same bank where they have stolen the money from. Of course they would ultimately be questioned by the police. But if each of them goes according to plan, they would easily get out of the mess.

But no …There is a problem and why wouldn’t there be. A witness to their doings happens to be there the time they are in with the money at the warehouse. This is a typical problem that happens in any crime scene. But the reason why this problem worsens is something that makes this movie different.
